South Africa

Thanks to you, we decided to make our honeymoon destination South Africa. It really makes a difference when the person giving you the advice has been there many times before.

Our safari began in Johannesburg, when we boarded a plane for Maun on Air Botswana. We then took a light aircraft (6 seater, single engine plane including pilot) to Moremi. Having never been on a light plane before, we were quite apprehensive. But, we forgot our fears once we looked at the windows and saw the breathtaking scenery - miles of untouched bush, smog-free skies, and best of all, elephant herds. 

Our safari to southern Africa was wonderful!  We spotted an impressive variety of game -- lions feeding on a giraffe, leopards stalking prey in the dark, cheetah scent-marking their territory, a herd of several hundred buffalo at a watering hole, and small herds of elephant.  South Africa also felt a step closer to civilization, often within reach of cellular service and the internet. The country also offers a wide range of camps, from rustic and charming Hemmingway-style tents to ultra chic, minimalist modern luxury chalets.

We loved everything.  Saw wild dogs kill a kudu and lions and hyenas stealing the kill from the dogs.  Loved the bush dinners and the surprise birthday party!    We have already given your details to a few friends and to my mother who is keen to go on safari next year.  We fell in love with Cape Town and would like to be able to retire there someday – the Cape Grace and Twelve Apostles were excellent.

Thanks, it was good and we all enjoyed.  We saw leopard and lions among others…  Accommodations and people were great.

 Shark dive was good experience because the sharks came so that was great. We enjoyed Cape Town, got a car and drove around.  Got to go up Table Mountain, had drinks in Camps Bay.  Didn't expect Cape Town to be that nice. 

Just wanted to let you know we managed to find our way back from the jungle.  We had a truly great time and a very memorable honeymoon - thanks for your help in organising everything.  The safari was absolutely fantastic - we became experts on wildlife animals and birds by the end of it.  

We loved the winelands.... I think even those who do not drink will love it.  We had the tasting dinner at the Le Quartier Francais - a must do if you haven't tried it yet. 

We loved the hotels you chose in Cape Town (Kensington Place and Le Quartier Francais)!

The water was very cold though… but still a great experience!!  The blue water predator dive was also very nice!!! Swam with 15 blue sharks and saw a mako shark (just as advertised)  … Overall, a great experience!! Thanks!

Our guide was great. His name was OT. He's extremely knowledgable, and he should be because in a few months' time he will be starting his studies to become a vet. He gave us a very thorough and interesting talk on termites - his father had done years of research on the topic, and it's fascinating to know how important these termites are to the whole ecosystem.

Happy lunar new year!  The trip went very well and we enjoyed all aspects of it--safari, cape town city and wine country.  The animal viewing was superb and it was nice being the only guests on many nights.  We appreciate the good advice you provided.

Thank you very much for a vacation that will be hard to forget.  Africa made me feel like I was in some paradise, a mysterious and fascinating Garden of Eden.
