It’s been barely 3 weeks since we got back from Africa and plans for a return trip as early as within the next month are already in the planning. I guess that says a lot about our experience during our recent visit to the area.
It was our first trip to Africa and our first safari so we left it to the expertise and recommendation of Asia to Africa Safaris who did a very good job planning out our itinerary, choosing our hotels in the city, camps in the bush, where to shop, restaurants to eat in, all the way down to the bottles of wine to enjoy.
This was truly a memorable trip that it is difficult to decide which part was the highlight. I must say, no amount of hours spent watching National Geographic or Discovery Channel could compare to being in the wild and experiencing the thrill of a kill which we were fortunate enough to see in it’s entirety from the stalk, to chase, and finally to the kill where 2 male lions took down a female buffalo on our last morning game drive at the Mombo Camp area guided by Tsile.
We particularly enjoyed being in the camps, appreciating their design and the comfort and luxury they had to offer. We loved it so much that we have brought home several things for our home to remind us of this African experience.
Even our visit to Capetown and its surrounding areas with its breathtaking views and seaside was a highlight too. We had the chance to do a cage dive with the great white sharks which was a totally different experience I would highly recommend.
We can’t seem to stop talking about this trip that we’ve been showing off our photos and videos to family and friends and are happy to say we’ve been able to convince some to experience this kind of adventure. We don’t need to convince ourselves. A return trip is already in the planning.
