We not only saw the rhino once in Serengeti, we saw 3 again in Ngorongoro haha.  In Serengeti, it was from less than 50 meters, but in Ngorongoro it was much further away.  Good view with the binoculars though - 2 dark coloured ones and one a lighter colour which David, the guide told us is a younger one.

We realise a good and knowledgeable safari guide makes for a successful safari trip.  All the 3 guides we had were highly knowledgeable, experience and professional.  But the one from Mara Expedition Camp, Francis was really a gem of a safari guide.  We were totally safari novice and had no expectation or don’t know what to expect.  He really educated us on the Masaai Mara Reserve, the North Mara Conservancy, the animals, the Company.  It was just not a job for him, we could feel his passion and love of the Reserve where he comes from.  It was not just safari talk we engaged in, but also about geography and history and what’s happening to the world around us.

I would have been very disappointed if I did not get to visit the Masaai Village.  So, in the light rain together with the Entamanu/Masaai Guide Joseph, we trod 5km across the muddy plain to the Masaai Village to meet the tribe and see their way of life.  That was a very humbling experience for me and I know I should not be complaining about not enough hot water or only a trickle of water.

Still trying to edit and clean up the over 1,000 photos and hundreds of videos we took over the entire trip.

So that’s all for our feedback on this wonderful journey crafted by A2A Safaris.  Great job Tung Ling - our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

Botswana next?  Will pick your brains when the time comes :-)
