We embarked on a 16-day adventure with A2A to celebrate our Mom’s 70th birthday. Being a big family of 19 persons, we were incredibly thankful we let A2A plan this trip for us- everything was smooth, seamless and hassle-free.
All our activities, tours, transfers and restaurant reservations were booked and planned prior to departure so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. We met with Binky and Tracie Dizon one year before the trip and they planned such a great itinerary for us.
We were able to thoroughly see and enjoy South Africa- our trip began in Victoria Falls where we stayed at a lodge set right on the Zambezi. Every morning was an adventure! We were greeted on boat by the sounds of hippos on the river, herds of elephants crossing from Zimbabwe to Zambia, and crocodiles basking on the riverbanks. We then proceeded to Marataba Safari Lodge in Limpopo, a lodge with the beautiful Waterberg mountains as backdrop. Our kids were welcomed warmly with cookie-making activities, bow and arrow excursions, and kid-friendly meals. Food was incredible, staff was exceptional and we all wished we could have stayed longer. And the drives- each drive out was thrilling and exciting. We saw 4 of the big 5 and couldn’t believe 3 days had gone by so quickly. After Marataba, we proceed to Tswalu Kalahari. It was amazing being the only lodge in an expanse of 100,000 hectares. The kids got to safari on horseback, while the adults enjoyed the wonderful food and service at the lodge. We got to see the amazing Kalahari lions on our first day there and even caught them roaring majestically! After 9 days in the bush, we then proceeded to Cape Town. We spent our time there shopping, dining and touring and were all captivated by this beautiful city.
Thank you A2A for a journey of a lifetime! Africa changed us and opened our eyes to a completely new world. We can’t wait to embark on another African adventure soon!
