Juana Yupangco and Family

My family and I peg ourselves as beach and city people, so going on safari was an unusual choice, especially since my children are still young. Meeting Yessa and looking at the A2A website opened our minds to doing one. My husband only agreed to go to Africa if it wasn’t so ‘animal packed’, what got him was the winelands. A2A customized the trip to suit everyone’s wants; our children who wanted to see baby Cheetahs and make smores, my husbands love of wine, and my love for organic farming and cooking. We felt we were being taken care of every step of the way. A2A also made sure our dietary restrictions VEGAN and GLUTEN free were followed at every stop. We normally pack our own food when travelling in case the hotels aren’t good about the food, but we went home with our vegan glutenfree stash almost intact because every place followed the guidelines. A2A has boots on the ground- literally, and the relationships they have with the operators is evident. One of our guides said ‘ You must know people in high places to get you to see these baby Cheetahs because its very rare.’ Travelling to a new continent with 2 kids was daunting so I wanted to make sure we were in the best hands; A2A’s reputation precedes them, but their quality service upholds it.

People ask me if A2A is expensive, and I tell them I don’t know because I didn’t ask anyone else. But what I do tell them is that it feels like you are being watched, like someone knows your every move, every issue. Which is priceless for me. Travelling with 2 kids to a new place was daunting, so it was good to know there were eyes and ears on us. Even if there wasn't, it felt like it did which is important.
