On behalf of the Lam family, we wish to express our appreciation for helping us to arrange the Kenya safaris for 8 nites/9 days along with the Bogensperger family between 3-11 August 2022.
This was truly a bucket list family trip and experience that we will never forget.
The early-morning and late-afternoon safari drives at the Masai Mara Conservatory were great thanks to our guide, Kevin. Kevin was so experienced that we saw everything that we asked for including most wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, gazelles, buffalos, giraffes, hippopotamuses, etc. And many species of birds.
What we never imagined seeing was a mini-version of the wildebeest crossing as part of their migration with some 500+ wildebeests, although 1 wildebeest was caught and eaten by a number of crocodiles. And it was most thrilling watching a cheetah anticipating, chasing and catching a gazelle.
The only downside to our Kenya safari experience was that we never really had time to fully enjoy our accommodations at the luxurious Mara Plains camp, as much as Mara Expedition camp.
The staff were very personable and friendly and foods and drinks plentiful. Would suggest that one should experience the Mara Expedition camp before Mara Plains camp to have more time to enjoy the more luxurious camp.
We found the wildlife in the Lewa Wildlife Conservatory less in abundance. Unfortunately, we were spoiled during our stay in the Masai Mara Conservatory. We still managed to see different wildlife such as white and black rhinoceroses, grevy zebras, antelopes, and others.
The accommodation at Sirikoi in the Lewa Wildlife Conservatory was nice and relaxing, where you can experience the wildlife in the camp site right in front of your tent. Definitely should try dining out in the wild for breakfast and/or lunch.
We would and have already highly recommended the Kenya safaris to our friends and plan to return back in the near future despite the need for us to undergo PCR tests and hotel-quarantine upon returning back to Hong Kong.
